Even though my job has dragged me away from the Steel City my heart is still there. I love going back for the big games. Nothing like seeing the Steelers or Pens win the big game in a home town bar. I made it back for the Super Bowl victory and again for the Cup. Both were just electrifying. On this latest trip we brought a visitor with us. She had a blast and will be making the trip North whenever we come.
We watched the game at Ref’s at Station Square with our friend Maddie. We had a blast. From there we ventured out to many other great drinking spots.
Almost better than the game was our experience Saturday. I have to believe this could only happen in Pittsburgh. We stopped at Jack’s Bar on Carson Street for an afternoon beer. While we were there we were lucky enough to see Guerin arrive in his SUV with Lord Stanley’s Cup safely strapped into the passenger seat. We not only got to congratulate him but also touch the cup! Of course my camera phone would work to get a good shot. I did manage to get a stalker like image through the window of Martini’s where the Pens gathered for a private party. The photos are posted at the top of this post. All in all, despite the snarled traffic, we had an incredible time. Thank you Pittsburgh. I love coming home!
