For the 43rd straight year the Steelers are getting ready to head back to their summer home in Latrobe, PA. As an alumni of Saint Vincent I always enjoy the news footage showing how radically different the campus is these days. I hardly recognize the place. Gone are the German nuns from the food service line in the cafeteria and their admonitions to not eat meat on Friday (even though it was on the menu).
While the players report July 31st, the first public session is scheduled for Saturday August 1st at 3 pm. As of now, open sessions are scheduled on campus at 3pm from August 1st through 6th, then 8th through 11th and the 15th through 20th. They have also slated a practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium on August 7th at 7 pm. As always, no alcohal is allowed at any practice session.

Saint Vincent takes its commitment to the Super Bowl champs very seriously. Coming into this camp they have added a third regulation size field. They’ve also added artificial surface to a soccer field where the team can practice if the practice fields are too muddy. They’re aware that this is the foundation upon which Championships are built.
P.S. – As I write this the Super Bowl is only 198 days away! Here we go Steelers!
