Emails may clear Big Ben

When will people learn that anything we do online never goes away? All this stuff is permanent, you can delete until you’re blue in the face. It will show up somewhere.

Ben’s attorneys have announced that they have seen email evidence that any contact between Ben and his accuser was consensual. According to his legal eagles his accuser sent an email the day after the alleged attack in which she discusses the fun of meeting people like Michael Jordan. Even telling the recipient of the email that she thinks Ben looks just like him (the email recipient). She later says, “…I need to head over to dinner with your lookalike and a few others…”. Not exactly what you’d expect as a reaction to a sexual assault.

If this email evidence turns out to be true this is yet another slap in face to all real victims of sexual assault or abuse. These false claims tend to desensitize the public to the severity of such claims. If the alleged victim is found to be making false charges, the District Attorney in Reno needs to prosecute her to the full extent of the law.
