I’m number three!

How Sweed it is!

How Sweed it is!

While most people want to be number one, Limas Sweed will be perfectly happy being called number three. Sweed is vying to prove he is the Steelers’ 3 receiver behind Superbowl MVP’s Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. His performance Saturday night might have been proof that he’s ready. After a not so stellar rookie season where he caught only 6 passes all season, he seems to have turned on the desire. Maybe the reality that Mike Wallace, a rookie, is making a serious run at the number 3 spot lit a fire under Sweed. He had an impressive training camp and exudes the intensity to grab the 3rd receiver role.

Reportedly, Sweed was greeted by Ben with something like ‘welcome to the big leagues’, during the Saturday’s Bills game. Limas has been looking impressive.

Sweed seems to be competing with Texas rookie Mike Wallace for the number 3 spot.

The battle for the No. 3 spot at wide receiver appears to be down to the former Texas star and rookie speedster Mike Wallace. Wallace may well be the fastest WR to ever wear the black ‘n gold. That being said he needs a little fine tuning. His routes need more finesse. That will come with experience as he works side by side with two Superbowl MVP wide receivers.

My guess is that Sweed will get the number 3 role with Wallace sharing kickoff returns with Tiny Logan.
