The three words Steelers fans do not want to hear, ‘Third and short’. Why oh why is this still an issue?! I cannot believe we’re in that boat again. I hate to revert to my preseason rap but Isaac Redman might have been their answer. The undrafted rookie managed to gain quite a reputation around Steelers camp this spring. I seriously thought I was over my disappointment or disapproval but last night shined a glaring light on the team’s lack of a short yardage back. Where was Parker? And don’t get me started on Mendenhall. The Steelers need to stop protecting this guy’s feelings and lay some blame where it belongs. He blew his first attempt last night. A first round pick should not be running into his quarterback. He and Fast Willie were nowhere to be found last night. I think the Steelers made a bad decision with maybe a little ego thrown into the mix. It might be tough to let go of a first round pick and admit he may not be a fit. On the bright side Redman is still on the parctice squad so maybe he’ll get a chance
