Who are you guys and what did you do with our league leading defense? There was no pressure on Palmer all day. Where was the pass rush? Palmer was so relaxed back there he could have spread out a picnic lunch at the line of scrimmage. I know some people have already started talking about their age and the fact that so many are over 30. I don’t buy that. They just don’t look energized. I seriously believe Troy’s influence on the field goes beyond his unbelievable talent. His mere presence is energizing and contagious. He brings that spark that has just been missing these past two games.
Call it what you will, a Super Bowl hangover or just bad play. There is plenty of blame to go around on this one. The offense certainly didn’t do a thing to salvage this game. Limas Sweed reverted back to his rookie year ways by dropping a touchdown pass. He had it, it was there in his hands. As a pro you just cannot miss that catch! Willie Parker finally showed a spark of life but managed to step out of bounds on a chance to run one into the end zone. Ben throws an interception for a touchdown return and cannot convert a 3rd and short to save his life. Add another missed field goal by Jeff Reed and it was just a bad day for the offense. It had its bright spots but the details are what win or lose a game. As Coach Tomlin said, they are not paying attention to the details.
So now we can look ahead to the Chargers game. San Diego’s 2 and 1 record might be slightly deceiving. They’ve beaten Miami and Oakland. Together they have a 1 and 5 record. Not the toughest schedule. They did play tough against Baltimore. The Steelers just cannot afford another let down.
Oh yeah. Why do the Steelers not run a no huddle offense more often? They did it five times against Tennessee and scored 4 times.

They are who you thought they were. the best of the best and six Superbowl wins.
