
Luxury of Time
Steelers’ Pres Art Rooney finally broke his public silence regarding the latest Ben Roethlisberger embarrassment. Of course he didn’t comment on the case specifically, he did allude to the fact that the ‘situation’ (and not the Jersey Shore Situation’) occurred at a good time. The team has the luxury of not having to make a quick move to replace Ben. It seems like this will partially play out before the season starts. And most attorneys say that if he were charged the trial would not likely start until the season is over.
Ed Bouchet quoted Rooney in the PG as follows:
“I mean, look that’s one of the things, we do have a little bit of luxury of time,” Rooney said this afternoon during an interview at Steelers offices, his first public comments since he issued a statement last week. “If we were at a different point in the year we may have to be thinking and doing something different. But at the moment, I think we’re in a situation we’re going to let this investigation play out and then go from there.”
