Stan & Guy Off ESPN

So the Steelers look unstoppable. The defense looks as good as any I’ve ever seen. The offense, led by the fourth string quarterback, racked up 38 points. It almost seems too good to be true. When Ben’s suspension was announced who would have guessed the team would get off to a 3 and 0 start? I actually heard someone on WDVE’s post game suggest a 16 – 0 season. It’s easy to get over confident about a start like this.

I heard an interesting stat on 97.3 ‘The Fan’ today. For those claiming the Steelers have had a cake walk the three teams the Steelers have beaten, TN TB & ATL are undefeated other than their losses to Pittsburgh.

On the down side, I just found out that ESPN Pittsburgh has moved to all network programming until the end of the year. They then become Disney Radio. Thanks ABC. Exactly how do you fail at making a sports station work in what is arguably one of the most rabid sports towns in America. I’m sad to see Stan & Guy leave the air. I for one hope ‘The Fan‘ picks them up. Those guys are great.

HOW CAN IT HAPPEN THAT THE 6 MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE ABOUT PITTSBURGH SPORTS ARE OFF THE AIR? WE NEED A NEW OR EXISTING STATION TO WAKE UP & TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR STEELER NATION FOLLOWING AROUND THE COUNTRY.

I need these guys! I live in Eastern PA and am surrounded by Eagles and Flyers fans. I feel my lifeline has been cut off. They can broadcast from my basement! Help!

I will NEVER have 1250 radio on again without Stan and Guy. I hope they go to an FM station and blow out those other sport shows that will ask fan’s opinion on ONE question and take answers to that the rest of the show. After each break, I hear the 5minute monolog with re-asking of that same question. Sounds like I’m hearing a replay after each commercial. Stan, Guy, we miss YOU man! ESPN: I don’t like your TV programs, and I don’t like your radio shows either!

I can ‘t believe that ESPN wants the listeners to be loyal , and without a word the two best broadcasters are off the air without a explanation to the faithful listeners. i will not listen to 1250 AM again . Good luck to all who kept us informed on local sports at The old 1250 ESPN. B. Maguire

this really sucks. to hell with wtae and espn. i would listen to stan and guy overseas– it was my only REAL connection with the city other than my fam.

ESPN dropped the Pittsburgh local guys and is now playing only network content. 1250 will be Disney Radio around the first of the year. Join our Facebook group to support Stan and Guy’s return (to some other station).
